These SMART (Stretch, Move and Relax Together) toddler yoga classes offer a new and exciting approach to playful yoga for mobile babies, toddlers and pre-school children.
As babies make the transition to independence, physical contact is often diminished; these classes promote loving and playful contact, providing a shared experience and focus between parent and child. This helps to carry young families through what can be a challenging time, as they tackle tantrums and boundary testing.
The simple sequences are easy to follow and provide great fun whilst promoting strength, balance, flexibility and co-ordination.
This is not just a music and movement programme, but an approach to handling, playing, nurturing and just being with your child in a mutually beneficial, holistic way.
Class Content
The sessions are a mix of activities that promote balance, flexibility and independent movement. The parents work with the babies and toddlers helping them to facilitate the movements and modelling the practices whilst the toddlers share the experience, participating at their own pace.
In the same way that baby yoga is done with a baby, and not to a baby these toddler classes allow them to take what they need from the session and share in the fun with their parents.
The sessions are lively with winding down and a joint relaxation towards the end. The classes last 45 minutes, plus 15 minutes at the end for chatting to friends and for the toddlers to play.

Frequently Asked Questions
How old does my baby have to be to attend?
Your baby can attend as soon as they are mobile. The movements are easily adaptable to infants of all stages between the ages of 12 months and 3 years.
What if my toddler doesn’t fully join in?
Your child may not join in everything, and that’s fine. It is ok for them to sit and watch or wonder away from the main activity. We do ask however if your child becomes disruptive (running around making a lot of noise) that you take them outside of the room to calm down, as it can become hazardous if the instructor cannot be heard.
What do I need to bring?
Anything you might need for your child such as changing equipment. Also ensure you wear comfortable clothing as you will be spending time on the floor with your child. We do ask they you don’t bring food and drink into the class as this can be a choking hazard and cause issues for other children who may have allergies. Also it is best to avoid bring toys into the classes as these can cause a distraction.
How much does it cost?
The cost is £33 for the first block of 6 classes. This fee is payable upfront to secure your place. I regret that fees are not refundable for missed classes.
I have several friends with babies/toddlers can we form our own yoga class?
Yes. I am happy to teach small groups with a minimum number of five people. I will try to find dates and times that suit the group.
